@lasta was right about the Tech (and there are lots of varieties!). Other vintage razors like an Old Type or a Super Speed could also worn depending on your preference.

Regarding your EJ, I have an EJ DE 89 myself. One of my first razors, along with a Merkur 23C. The EJ is beginning to lose some of the finish on the cap, and there is no issues with the Merkur. Seems (IMHO) the Germans do a better job, than the English, in the razor category.

I will say I did not take good care of keeping the lime deposits back, really at all, ever. It lasted about 10 years with zero maintenance on my part. I will have to do better with cleaning and maintaining in the future!

Howdy and welcome! Check me on my accuracy here but I think I was reading somewhere that Razorock makes an “improved clone” of the DE89 and it’s fairly cheap!
