Given your budget, I would consider one of Simpsons badgers (best or super grade) PLUS an appealing boar (Semogue or Zenith)! You can GET BOTH!!

Yes, you can't go wrong with the Simpson Commodore X2 or similar for badger. Vulfix also makes good brushes with less dense badger knots.
