How do I fill this Sheaffer fountain pen?

How to fill this pen?

It has a rubber bladder under the metal, but unlike my Parker 51 the metal doesn't have a squeeze bar.

There is a hole at the very end of the metal. Is this hole supposed to be for use with a pushrod?

I think this pen is from the late 1960s and is a Christmas gift from my mom

Looks like a Dolphin, which would make it a touchdown filler. Is there a blind cap at the end of the barrel?
I have looked real close under a flashlight, and the barrel is one piece. Maybe this is a converter that is missing a slide that would go over the end of what I have as a piston filler?

No. Sheaffer didn't make a piston filler with that nib.

Can you please post some better photos (neutral background, natural light), that includes the fully assembled pen (cap off), and some detail shots?

Got it figured out. This is an Imperial model with the Touchdown filler. I was able to get the piston freed as the end cap on the barrel was extremely tight. I got it unscrewed, and viola I know am able to fill the pen.

I will post better pictures soon :)

Here is the pen.

I was able to fill it, had to run nib under hot water to get the pen to write.

Nib looks like a medium but writes like a bold, but that could be due to using Noodler's ink which is a little more wet than other inks

Awesome. The type of cap will determine the actual model: metal cap is an Imperial 500, plastic is an Imperial 800.

You posted as I was typing: it's a 500. Congrats!
