I've changed the way I use my G5 scuttle. I used to build lather primarily in the scuttle, then apply the lather to my face. Now I do little lathering in the scuttle. I just try to get the cream and water or soap and water into a homogenous mixture, then go to face lathering. I get a creamier, denser lather. The scuttle does keep the brush and lather warm between passes, but a brush scuttle would be adequate.

I own a brush scuttle from another company and it works good. A suggestion, after refilling outer bowl with very hot tap water, take the lather you mixed and put it in the inner bowl with a little water mixed in. It will really keep the lather warm for 3 passes as well as the lather on your brush.
