Changing cartridge before empty?

Hey all,

I've recently bought a Lamy Safari. Along with it, I picked up a converter and some black ink. I started using the pen with the blue cartidge with which it came, but would like to switch to the black. (once I figure out how to load the converter :001_huh:)

Question...do I have to finish the blue ink cartridge before it's safe to remove?

Good info, I am in the same boat, the blue cartridge is about to run out on me and I also want to get a converter.

It is okay to remove the cartridge, just hold it upright and don't squeeze it. If you don't clean out the blue ink, it might take a bit for the black ink to come through.

Excellent feedback from the B&B community, as always!

I've officially removed the blue, and am now writing black. Thanks all!

You can even load the converter before you put it in the pen if you want. I have a hard time completely flushing out a pen and having to stick the whole nib in the bottle is sometimes a sloppy process for me. It'll come in handy when you're down to the bottom of the bottle too.
