So would you suggest a milder razor in addition to milder blade? I'm wondering if even a mild blade in an R41 is still too much?

No, I don’t want you changing more variables. You have the R41 and the Feathers, unfortunate choices. You’re just gonna have to tough it out and master that combo. Practice, practice, practice.

Agreed, but I feel this is a little different. I have a DE89, which as I'm sure you know is on the mild side, especially compared to my R41 (which is a 2011 or 2013). Plus I use feather blades. I'm thinking of using the R41 for WTG and then try the DE89 XTG. If that doesn't feel good, I'll try a milder blade in the DE89. Any recommendations for a milder blade? Persona, Astra, etc?

If you already have the milder razor, use it. Lose the Feathers. Personna Lab Blues would be ideal; I use Lords.
