Buying badgers brushes from Overseas into USA

Here is my first thread to start and I am sure I will get made fun of for it, which I will take. I know it sounds like a stupid question but again I'd rather be sure before I start getting more stuff.

The question is this and I am sure I know the answer but would like confirmation, can you buy a badger brush from an overseas dealer (ie someone not in the USA) and ship it here to the USA? That is my question. Thanks ahead of time for the help and if you make fun of me, I am fine with it so long as I know before I start making purchases. I have been on long enough that I should know but want to make sure. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, yes, Shavemac, Semogue and also Simpson ship to the USA. There are many others they will do also.
Thanks for your response, I appreciate it. I figured the site, like Shavemac, where I could price things out would mean that yes you could but I wanted to make sure that is was not an issue to where overseas dealers could not ship badger brushes, or in my case 1 brush, into the USA. Thank for letting me know, makes me feel better.

Yes and they don't charge import tax.
The question is: how long will it take to get it here and how much is the shipping......
Alot for shipping, in my case, and not long, better be the case to get here. :001_smile

In all honesty, I have been very fortunate in not having items from overseas such as razors and soaps take very long but a badger brush, I haven't bought overseas before so I wanted to make sure.

Stupid questions are the ones not asked.
Never feel that you will be chastised or mocked. B&B has protocol. One being- Be a gentleman. There are plenty here, and the ones that can't abide are escorted out.
Ask away! Don't EVER hesitate!

Yes, no problem shipping badger brushes into the US. I've ordered many (too many?) badger brushes that have been shipped to the US from the Isle of Man. Never had a problem and never paid an import tax. Occasionally, the shipments have been held-up in customs for inspection. Even when that's happened, it's only added a few days to the shipping time.

I've had mixed experience - the great majority of offshore badger/boar purchases were without an issue (Vintage Scent, Connaughts, Simpsons). There was one occasion that I incurred import duty - it was on a knot I ordered directly from Shavemac, their carrier (DHL if I recall correctly) claimed to have paid an inordinate amount of duty - for which they billed me post delivery.

These companies, like FEDEX etc, quite often collect these import duties. As a matter of fact, FEDEX once send me their bill before I even received the package, which they had somehow "misplaced", the knots arrived a couple weeks after their bill. Never again FEDEX. Postal service does not collect these duties.

Well here I was all happy and well on of my carriers is FedEx for one of my brushes being delivered today rofl. I assume I'll get no bill for 1 brush, this one is from Gifts and care. The savings of no vat and their pricing is why I went thru them so may it remain that way!

I also have 1 using Ups but again I have used them before for razors no issues.

The rest of the stuff bought from overseas went thru Usps no bills or fees of course.

I have also used Dhl, I didnt pay anything either, never billed either so I dont expect to get one.

I'll pay attention to that next time so in case I have the option I will use the option that goes thru the Usps, which is usually that country's national postal service but again I have not had any import duties or issues otherwise kind of eats at the savings of buying the brush from overseas or anything for that matter. I even used the faster shipper because of the savings so its like "Well here to not getting billed" rofl.

Good information on this thread and thankful for it to keep an eye out for. B and B's, as usual, helping out and coming thru, most appreciated.

@purecro , I hope everything arrives quickly, safely, without import taxes. That's the way it's always gone for me. I've received overseas packages where the carrier has been FedEx, DHL and USPS... I've never had an issue, thankfully. UPS works great from Canada and is my preferred carrier from there.

Right on. Thanks for the information as usual. I am just waiting for my stuff to arrive, quickly, safely and without any import taxes. The one right now that is going the slowest is Vintage scent but I don't know if they shipped overseas yet or not but thats ok, we will see. The rest of it looks to be moving along quick well so hopefully it all goes as well.
