Brown Suit/shoe combo question

Congratulations on the promotion.
A very interesting discussion with different views expressed. While there is no real consensus overall, I'd say that there are enough "traditionalists" out there who would be off-put by the brown-suit-black-shoes look that, while there's no problem in your daily routine pulling off this look if you want, you might not want to risk it when everything is on the line and you have to impress someone (like in an interview) especially when you don't know that person's preferences.
