Hmmmm..... Lots of interesting points here. I certainly don't know that it is worth the effort for DE blades, but it just might help those cartridge users get even a few more decent shaves.
I do, however, like the suggestion of rinsing my DE razor with alcohol. It couldn't hurt.
Regarding the Razor Pit, their microscopic images and underlying theory: I guess I wonder how much the face of the blade is responsible for cutting the hair vs. the edge of it? For that matter, it is only cleaning the side against your face - which could mean the blade edge is able to get (microscopically) closer to your face in order cut the hair lower, but does can it cut the hair any better/easier? I'd prefer to see comparisons of the top view of the edge of the blade.
