1959 (E- 1) Fat Boy tear-down, cleaning, etc...

I drilled the 1/2 inch hole then cut the thing in half. I found it to be loose, but it worked after I sanded a bit. Perhaps wrapping the handle in a towel would work well. I used a cheap Stanley mitre saw. If I was going to do it again, I'd drill it to 3/8ths and rip it in half on the table saw. It would hold better.

It really is quite simple. Watch out for the red "spring" and use caution with the black ring. Good luck, @cgsample!


Edit: I used an auger bit. This could be a reason.
