What do the little numbers signify?

+1. I once put 17 on it and the blade lasted almost 3 weeks!

17, huh? Never tried that number but I think I will. Thanks for the tip, but I have a few questions. Did you write it in each corner front and back? Or just one corner?

Thanks, and I'll be awaiting your response.

I write it on 3 corners at one side and on the remaining corner on the opposite side. Remind that on the side I write it 3 times, 2 are in mirror writing with in between the side that is written on on the reverse side. I use a Pelikan Majesty M 7005 with custom made tungsten tips with obscure green tattoo ink.

You can't go wrong.

Ah, a Pelikan Majesty M 7005. No wonder you're able to get three weeks out of one blade.

17? hmmmm....has anyone tried 34? if 17 lasts 3 weeks, maybe 34 would last 6? or, am I completely wrong here and 34 would make the blade go immediately dull, unable to cut even melted butter? All this talk of numbers and blade sharpness makes me want to keep the blades suspended in the center of a copper wire pyramid for some reason!
