Zenith unbleached boar brush
Opuntia soap
Gillette Aristocrat Jr made in England
Gillette SP ninja
Keeping with this set up for a few days because it all just works so well together.
Super smooth razor and blade but do pay attention. Capable of a minor nick but worth it for the marble like end result.
It doesn’t get quite as close on my neck as the Shield AC does but is a less aggressive shave overall. I’m giving it a 9.5/10. Bellisimo!!

Comments: A fantastic shave to start off this dark and stormy morning here in North Texas. Heavy rain(s) and high winds are upon us currently. Today, I have a nice smooth-face feel shave. The VDH did great under the nose along with my jaw line.

Pre shave: hot shower
Brush: Yaqi synthetic
Soap: Cella
Razor: 65' Ball Tech
Blade: Gillette Permasharp green (3)
Post Balm: Nivea sensitive post shave balm
Post Splash: Proraso Green

Rating: 8/10, dfs. No complaints. It's my first time using Cella; impressive. The lather level was great. While I do like my Super Speed better, the Ball Tech didn't disappoint.

CARNIVAL SHAVE

Two Days Whiskers

MUSIC: Script For A Jester's Tear by Marillion, 1983

PRE-SHAVE:

- Hot Shower

- Proraso Pre-Shave Cream Cypress and Vetyver (IT)

BOWL: SV Shaving Grail (IT)

SOAP: Truefitt & Hill Mayfair (GB)

BRUSH: Morris & Forndran Butterscotch Heritage II TH Blonde Badger 52 × 28 mm (GB) -

Almost gelled, but not gelled. Slightly pricky, spiced but not scritchy. With more backbone than a common Silvertip. That's Blond Hair. That's Lee Sabini.

SR: Rex Envoy (US) -

While being nice this razor never gave me a 10/10 Shave. Today was no exception. It gets very close and yet stays too far.

BLADE: Wizamet Iridium Super Extra Stainless (RU) (4)

- Another excellent performance.

POST-SHAVE:

- 444 Alum-Block (PT)

- Gillette Coolwave After Shave (D)

- Cosmia Men After-Shave Balm (FR)

THE SHAVE -

A 9.25/10.

I wish the Rex Envoy was a bit more efficient because I like the razor.
A razor that never completely vanquishes my neck's stubbles - independently from which blade loads it. And I can't go on in an endless blade-buffing over there without getting an irritation. So I stop much before that happens.
Better a Nine than an Eleven Ouch!

Morning Shave - 03/04/25
Shave Number:
477
Passes: 2.5
Razor: Fatip Grande OC
Blade: Personna Viking's Sword (2)
Soap: Palmolive Sensitive Shave Cream
Brush: RazoRock Hive 24
Aftershave: Clubman Lustray Blue Spice
Shave Comfort: 10/10 (Smooth)
Shave Quality: 8/10 (DFS)
Shave Rating: 9/10
Really strange shave. I can feel the blade in the Fatip, but then I also have it leave short stubble in places. I can also tell that I can over shave with it quite easily. I managed to shave without irritation, but I can tell I have to watch for accumulating irritation. shave was not quite as close as I would have like, but it is a shave and I am presentable so the mission was successful.

Lockback

Dull yet interesting
Preshave: Hot shower
Soap/Shave cream: Cremo Refreshing Mint
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Treet Carbon Steel (2)
Post shave: Gillette Gel
Rating: 9.2/10

I usually toss the Carbon Steel blade after one shave but stretched this one to two. Probably not the best idea as one side of the double edge seemed quite dull. No big deal ... I just flipped the razor and used the other side and got it done.
I've got four different Cremo flavors and this one is my least favorite. Still plenty slick but the scent doesn't float my boat.

One day beard growth.

Day 1 of retirement! Nothing pressing to do, but got up early and shaved anyway, because I like to.

Quick shave. Not really trying for pickups or really focusing on getting every little area. I am trying to use up a can of Proraso shaving cream I picked up at an Amazon return store.

Three passes:

WTG, XTG, ATG and one clean-up pass.

No nicks.
No weepers.
No irritation.
DFS+ shave.

Have some great shaves!

Pre: Hot Water

Brush: Vulfix2243s

Razor: Weber wave/Maggad V3

Blade: Black 7 (1)

Head and face shaves this morning both were DFS! I had bought some black 7s remembering they were my go to blades back 12-13 years ago. Now I why. Better than feathers imo. Perfection!!!
