Inspired by my 3ONE6, I went in for a new 1.05 plate on my Game Changer. Very nice! The geometry is a bit different from the 3ONE6; I expect it’ll take me a few days to dial in fully. But on the first shave, looks like this end of the Game Changer spectrum is going to work much better for me than the 0.68P.

  • Pre shave - shower
  • Yaqi Ghost 90 SS head on Titanium handle (China)
  • Gillette Platinum "Swede" #6 (Russia)
  • tallow Tabac Soap in an Old Spice mug (Germany)
  • Yaqi Aqua Highmountain badger brush (China)
  • Thayer's WH (USA)
  • Pinaud Lilac Vegetal A/S (USA)
9.5/10, DFS+, that blade continues to sing. I retract yesterday's comment that it seems to be falling off slightly. Today's shave was fabulous and I'm not striving with the touchups or anything. No doubt in my little military mind this blade is capable of doing a solid week of shaves. Will confirm tomorrow.

The Yaqi brush has quickly become my favorite.

Today I had the first shave in my life with shavette. I got it as a gift from my wife's father who lives in Germany. The shavette is called "Erbe" from Solingen, however, it's the same thing as Dovo one. Beautiful razor, stainless version.

I loaded Euromax as for me it's a mild but efficient blade. Made a prep, used EJ pre shave cream. Took my Muhle badger, covered my face with La Toja soap (stick), face lathered. I decided to do more wet lather today.

Started with my right cheek as usual. Heck, what was it? No matter what angle I used, this beast tried to bite me every time. When I had smooth strokes (only a couple), I received the same results if I used a regular disposable WTG. The finale for me was a cut near my chin. The cut, not a nick, or red dot. The cut, gents. As a bonus, my skin were burning as if I used barbecue sauce as my shaving cream:letterk1:

After all this mongo-bongo, I took my R89 with W Sword, and got dfs in 5 minutes....

YMMV, all due respect, I have no idea why should I waste my time with this type of razor... It doesn't cost such price, especially when you cannot get better results comparing to De shave (my de technique is nearly perfect). But that's for me, take a note.

Sad I wont use this gift and it will just gather dust, glad it's just shaving and I live further:) Have a nice day, take care:cuppa:

September 7, 2024 Saturday shave

Razor: Gillette Super Speed 1953 Y2
Blade: Vi John Super Platinum (1)
Soap: Cella red
Brush: AP Shave Co. 24mm G5A
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Post shave: Omega alum block, Thayer's Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Old Spice Original

Normally I shave every other day, but since I'm getting a haircut this afternoon, it seemed like a good idea to spiff up a bit.
It's been a while since a Super Speed was used, likewise using a Vi-John razor blade. The results were good, although accompanied by a little more alum feedback than usual.

9.8 / 10 Face and dome shower shave for Saturday, September 7th, 2024.

Did some shave shopping for myself over the Labor Day holiday. Most of it has arrived, still waiting for a soap/AS order from Pasteur. Most likely I'll post it up on the 'What Are You Unpacking' thread when it's all here.

Decided to use some of the new stuff today.

Ball end Tech, ASCO stainless, Barrister & Mann Muir Woods, inaugural use of a Zenith Boar Brush, Dickenson's Witch Hazel, and Pino Silvestre Original.

Had two brief weepers on my head. The Zenith 31mm boar felt amazing, can't wait to see how it breaks in! I thought my Omega 28mm Boars were nice and soft, which they are, but this way softer!

May you all have a good weekend!

Razor: Timeless Brass 38 SB
Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp Super, 2nd use
Brush: Grizzly Bay Atlantic Barbear
Bowl: Cayuen Dark Nebula Bowl
Preshave: Hot Shower & L’Occitane Verbena Shower Gel Soap
Soap: Stirling Deep Blue Sea
Aftershave: Stirling Deep Blue Sea
Balm: Stirling Deep Blue Sea
Additional Care: Thayers Witch Hazel (Unscented)

Father/son shave today (photo courtesy of my son). I wanted to give the Timeless 38 another shot after sidelining it for a while. I’m discovering that sometimes first impressions can be wrong and when you revisit a razor it can positively surprise you. Sometimes a shift in technique or just slowing down can deliver a completely different experience. That wasn’t the case today. No nicks or weepers, but the Ti38 simply doesn’t have the blade clamping to use it ATG on my upper lip. As soon as I tried I could feel it skipping across my skin. Instead I opted for a 2nd XTG pass and even added a 3rd XTG pass just below my nose. Even with a Perma-sharp the net result was disappointing with a shadow left behind on my upper lip. I think this is it for me and the Ti38 and it will exit my rotation. SAS+.

Wishing you some pleasant shaves.

This is as close to a true Zen shave as I have ever had. An absolutely transformative experience.
Smooth and easy with complete confidence. The scent is what really takes me.... away...
Next time I won't bother with a bowl and just go straight in for a face lather.

Semogue Saturdays!

Hello friends

Beautiful Saturday. I took the opportunity to try out my new soap, SV Morado, with a splendid fragrance and a phenomenal post shave. With it, Pegasus Mistura produced an abundant and slick leather. I went back to Rex Ambassador @6/5/4 and the blade that, for me, goes best with it, Perma-Sharp (1). I finished with my favorite AS, Floïd The Genuine and complemented it with Davidoff Zino.

With us, the brilliant Ben Webster and Harry "Sweets" Edison.

What more could I want?

Rating: 10

Have a nice weekend and great shaves!

Razor - 1964 Gillette Slim
Blade - Gillette Platinum (1)
Brush - Omega 10777
Soap - Arko
A/S - Gillette Aftershave Gel
DFS 8/10

Not sure if I like this blade or not; the shave wasn't bad, but it's certainly not as comfortable on the first shave as the carbon steel Treets I usually use in this razor, but we'll see if it gets any better.
