1) Portugal: Brush Semogue Owners Club boar.
2) Turkey: Shaving Soap Arko.
3) USA: Razor Gillette NDC Gold Ball End Tech.
4) Japan: Razor Blade Kai on shave thirteen.
5) Italy: Alum Block Proraso.
6) Germany: Aftershave Balm Nivea Men Replenishing Post Shave Balm.
7) USA: EDT Vera Wang For Men.

Shave number thirteen on the Japanese Kai blade didn’t go quite according to plan. I gave myself a weeper on my right cheep near where my lips meet. Also the sting when I used my Alum Block was more than yesterday. I will use it for one for shave and then change it to another Kai on Monday. Todays rating 8/10.

A bright Saturday morning.

Ralf Aust 7/8 square point straight razor

Very nice, but I'd probably resent this one if it wasn't. If I'm going to have one of those, it had better be good. Fortunately, it always has been so far - often surprising me with how smooth everything is both during the shave and after.

Exemplary work from the Epsilon brush and Wickham's lather. The aftershave is the Three Pears brand recreation of the Eighties Yardley staple (the red cap version) and it's close enough. It's actually not bad. Maybe if they hadn't gone with the same name I'd have been impressed with a reasonable and inexpensive aftershave rather than comparing it to forty years of nostalgia.

Just did the face rub to check, and there's nothing to justify not giving it a "10".

9.5/10 absolutely refreshing, hardly any burn, zero leaks. I’m sure YMMV, but this is the third blade I’ve corked on the first shave and I do think it works very well…Happy Saturday Gents! 😎

Saturday's shave -

Razor: Blackbird
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (2)
Lather: Stirling "Hot Apple Cider" soap
Aftershave: Tabac aftershave lotion

Top-notch shave from the Blackbird, as usual. I like Stirling's soap formula: It's easy to lather, maintains moisture, and provides very good slickness. The Mrs. likes the Tabac scent so that's a plus. Outstanding shave today! 👍
