What did you hone today?

If I may ask, what is the source of these stones - are they available for purchase?

These are stones from the mountains or the seaside in Taiwan. My friend collects these stones.

Riga on a LPB to a Schwedenstein stone with slurry. Jointed the edge and did a full diluticot. HHT off the LPB was very good as it was off the Schwedenstein

Should be a nice shave.

I hope so. There aren’t too many variables with those old Norton arks. They typically do an excellent good in the post finish stage.

Came off 5k onto the suita at the top. I really liked this when I first got it but I don't love it now, it's fairly coarse and not super fast, nothing I can do with this I can't do better with a botan on a fast harder stone.

To the hard suita below next. This one's a cracker, think it might be deep layer, the sides are super compacted and it is really hard for a suita. Ummed and aahed about whether to go mejiro or tenjyou next, decided on mejiro but I think tenjyou would have helped - the jump was quite big and it needed a few rounds.

Finally to the big black stone for koma and tomo to finish. This stone feels really good, hard and a bit glassy, but I have a vibe the end result might be a bit lacking, not sure if the stone or me. Shave tomorrow will clarify!

Very nice edge.

Getting into the grove again. Looking to soften the edge a little on a JNat. Coco was eager to help.

Gergely's edge was fine, but I felt it could have been keener ATG. Reset the bevel with Kapton on an SG2k, then went to a dilucot on this Iromono kiita. Finished on water laps and the HHT was superb. Shave in the morning.

Full progression of botan, tenjyou, mejiro, koma, and tomo on this Favorit. Spent some extra time on the first three further ironing things out from the edge it came to me with. Seems pretty solid at the moment.

I had nothing better to do, so I tried pushing the edge on the Ale 5160 up a notch. It had an Arkansas edge that was fine. I used a vintage translucent Arkansas hand-held with ONR only this time. I didn't count laps but I'm guessing it was in the 200 - 250 range. HHT is excellent, I might have to break my rotation plan and shave with this one. USB 'scope image doesn't show much change, a shave will tell the tale.

Thiers Le Grelot 71 on a tried and true progression, synth through 5k, botan to mejiro on the suita, koma and tomo on the awasedo. Nice edge.

Yurri razor on a Shapton 2-6-Snow White 8 Suehiro 10-20 K. Nice easy progression ending in what should be a killer edge. HHT was on point for sure
