It's a new week so it is time for a different razor. This week I am using what I believe is a 46-47 Aristocrat, no notch, no crease. Williams Mug Soap and an Astra SP. I don't know if they exist, but a vintage Williams mug would be nice.

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue Double Wrapped (RUS #6)
Cream: Palmolive Classic (ITL)
Brush: Wilko Synth

A fairly simple set up tonight, using one of the beautifully manufactured early 50's English Rocket family.
This example, like many early 1950's English TTO's was built partially of aluminum. The sought after 1951-2 No. 52A sets, made entirely of aluminum are maybe the most desirable from a collectors standpoint.
The Korean Conflict and the subsequent world brass shortage hit the UK particularly hard and this is evident in the material choices forced upon Gillette England at the time.
Mine comes in at 58gms, compared to the 70gm full brass version. It is a lovely, efficient and smooth shaver, and the Rocket mechanism is magnificently crafted.

Aristocrat #15 / Wizamet - An early 400.621 patent version, one of my favorite vintage razors and I think one of the most beautiful they ever made.

I believe so, the handle is heavy so definitely not aluminum. The head is a nice Zamak specimen.
It shaves great, don't know why I bother with any other razors but the venerable Tech!
Imagine how the Tech feels, not being used for sixty years. Like a garage queen Ferrari

Notes: Its been a while since I got my ranger tech out for a shave. Loaded a lab blue for the first time in this razor and WOW! Smooth 3 pass shave with no cuts or irritation.

Superb example! I ask myself the same question; should I really use anything else?? The gateway drug for me was a clean Pre-War/fat handle loaded with a GSB. I blame @lasta for this....
