I made it out there yesterday, in marginal conditions. It didn’t get to the forecast 9C (49F). Cooler still in the canyon with a cold, steady rain and some wind. I could have managed it better but gear was good. Just over 2 hrs, 15.7 km, 600 m of gain. Try enjoying that without your mom’s permission. No approval or admonishment. Just the wind and water around me, the earth beneath my feet; and the void. Nothing but gratitude and the grandeur of accomplishment.
But man, after some quick recovery food I poured the salts in the bath and had a nice warm soak; then did the stretching, and put my feet up. Feeling pretty good today; just some active recovery though.
