Trumpers Vs. Williams

Don't give up on soaps just because of this one brand. Try some Tabac for less $$ and enjoy a great shave in which aftershave is purely optional.

I have Tabac and MWF and Cade and a few other soaps and sticks in my stash, but I'm not rushing to them just yet. I need to clear my current rotation a little, and then I can break out one of these.

Tabac is a great one. It will always be remembered as the soap that proved to me that you don't have to bend over backwards to make decent lather.
Even if your brush isn't great.
Even if your lather bowl is smooth and deep.
Even if you don't lather on the puck (which was what I had been reduced to until I got tabac)
Even if you don't load a ton of soap.
Even if you're impatient and add a bunch of water at once instead of a little at a time.
Even if your water is hard.
Even if you insult it by saying it smells like gramma's dainties drawer and sawdust.

Tabac forgives you. While no longer the best lather I get (It's just a hair more airy and crispy than my favorites) it is still damn fine lather. And it forgives so much. If I had a store that sold shaving brushes, I'd include a puck of Tabac with purchase for every first time customer. Because it is truly a great soap. Not the best, but still a worthy soap for everyone at a very reasonable price. And a puck lasts a freaking eternity.

You mean you have these stashed away and haven't even used them yet? Holy cow! I could never do that. I have some duplicates stashed away, but everything else gets used occasionally, even Williams.

It also leaves my face feeling freshly moisturized. I have even skipped the aftershave with no ill effects or discomfort.

I agree with the OP, I picked up some Trumpers Extract of Limes recently and it sucks. The lather is terrible for such a high priced soap though I must say the scent is very nice. I get much better lather from my new Williams puck than I do from the Trumpers.

I have so much stuff stashed away it's not funny. I need MS Project just to establish a critical path for my current rotation before I can even put the stash into scope.
