Yes; the suspense and anticipation lasted for months, it seemed, between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. A month of school days seems like six months when you're nine or ten.
We had various Rexall stores, but our local drugstore chain was Katz & Besthoff, abbreviated by one and all to "K an' B." Famous for its purple marquee, purple paper (and later plastic) bags, and the purple smocks and vests worn by its employees. A big K & B had everything the Rexall ad mentions plus a soda fountain, magazine/paperback and record racks, and more.
