The obvious choice for today is Barrister and Mann The Hallows. The scent profile is as listed.

Taking inspiration from the swamps and churchyards of the city, we combine vetiver, oakmoss, black pepper, cocoa, labdanum, and cedar to produce a deep, cold scent suited to the chilly, bitter days of late October. Gloomy, rich, and perversely elegant, Hallows is a reminder of why men once feared the dark.

I smell some frankincense but that's likely my Catholic calibrated nose. It would have been 29/30 if I didn't go ATG on the neck and get a tad of irritation. A fine shave nonetheless.

Beware of the Overlook Hotel and Room 237!

Whether you're a fan of The Shining or not there's no mistaking the iconic nature of the Grady sisters. Often referred to as "the creepy little girls" who ask Danny to play with them. This iconic nature really inspired me to pick up this set as I'm a huge fan of The Shining movie.

There's something chilling about this label with the girls and the red walls. I just had to have it. If there was ever a label that sold me, this is one!

The scent for Room 237 was inspired by Single Malt by Killian. It's unmistakably boozy with its deep, rich notes of Plum, Whiskey, Wheat, Tolu Balsam, and Vanilla.

This one starts out boozy with the whiskey and plum notes but fades into a wheatyness that drifts into a creamy, woody vanilla drydown. It's decadent, manly and intoxicating. Be warned though! Your lady might want to eat you after smelling this on you. If so, you better pray she doesn't do what Lorraine Massey, the crazy woman from Room 237 does. She's the one in the bathtub that turns into a rotting old woman. Hahaha. Don't say I didn't warn you.

First run with the Atelier Durdan Vestige. Razor was offered in a group pass around on another forum. Figured I would share a quick review. I was surprised at the size of the razor upon arrival. Most GEM style razors have a bulkiness and weight that we've all become accustomed to dealing. This one was a refreshing surprise! Razor is well crafted, nimble, and a beautiful design. With the testing came the standard plate, + plate, and ++ plate. Razor is stainless steel and comparable in weight to other stainless razors in its size. Currently at work but can provide dimensions with tomorrow's post as well as better pics of the razor itself.

I took the maiden voyage with some SV Felce and the standard plate. My stubble was light due to a late shave yesterday and the standard plate, though mild, handled it nicely, leaving me BBS with zero nicks or weapers. I was worried the standard plate would be too mild but I found it perfect as a daily driver which is something i normally wouldnt be able to do with a GEM blade. Zero harshness. Razor was nimble in hand and a joy to use. Easily comparable to other SE or DE razors in feel that you dont find from many other GEM style razors. My only concern was the slickness of the SV made the handle itself a little slick, but the knob at the bottom of the handle allowed for a grip to hold on to razor without issue. Tomorrow will be the + plate and ill give my thoughts on that as well.

Franken Halloween Treat. The Meta-4 alone is a great razor but I've found a few other razors it can go on and create a smooth super comfy shave. If you really like blade feel this combo today would not be for you. I barely felt the blade but it was pretty darn efficient still. I felt the alum and snake bite more today then I did yesterday with the ATT.
