It was another fab shave with the Athena. Three passes to perfection! Extremely close and easy, no irritation. Everything worked together to make this a great shave to start the week.

First use of the Avanti on settings 2,3&5 and it’s a mild to medium shave that is really smooth. On setting 5 it has some blade feel. The handle is a little slippery and had me reaching for alumn just to make sure I didn’t drop it. I got very smooth without a lot of effort.

Razor : Ever-ready 1924 or (AKA =shovel head). Mfg 1924-33, mid range. This razor works well but loading a blade is different because it placed in the back and cap is hinged in the front. I do use a RIGS shim (spent Gem aluminum spline flattened and placed under the new blade spline to mock the older thicker splined blades). They sold a lot of 1924 SE razors when looking for one on E-Bay is no problem. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(5) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Speick stick, very enjoyable mild spicy scent with some of the best lather qualities I have used.
Brush : Yaqi "Ferrari" 24mm boar bristle hair knot. Excellent lather generator, soft split end bristles, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. One of my favorite boar brushes for face feel when lathering.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Ever-ready 1924 with a coated Gem blade.

A wonderful Monday here. I chose the splendid MdC Original for today's shave. As always, it produced an easy and abundant lather with the Semogue SOC Mistura. Mühle Rocca R94 and Perma-Sharp (3) gave me a deep and easy shave. I finished with my favorite Pinaud, Clubman Classic Vanilla.

With us, Tony Bennett and Bill Charlap.

We started the week very well!

Soap: Crowne and Crane - Tobacco Leaf and Amber

Splash: Bond - Whiskey and Cedar

Tried for a repeat of Friday's magic and mostly got it. Same light lather results (it seems to do best face lathering for whatever reason). A smooth and comfortable shave for the tale end of the Platinum blade's life cycle. This particular Bond (and they do make many) a dream of a scent with a dry cedar forward and light on the whisky, probably more Scotch influenced if I'm honest. Happy Monday folks!
