What's new

Six Months ago I had half a dozen frags ... honestly ...

FRAGS ON THE TABLE - APRIL 2025.jpg

... Then I joined shaving sites and they've bred like rabbits - So you've been made aware shall I say.

Oh my goodness I didn't realise until I got 'em out of the leather Dopp bags.

Oh - this is not all of them - they wouldn't fit on the table !

ESSENTIAL OILS - SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCES.jpg

ATTARS AND FRAGRANCES.jpg

Most of them are cheapies but I don't need 3 figure designer stuff because I layer them with essential oils, attars and oud (not shown) and I also smoke my clothes with bukhoor (M.E./Asian) incense and fragrant woods and resins like I did when I lived in Alexandria, Hurghada and Cairo and they smell for months or forever if you smoke scarves, cravats, waistcoats, hats, shoes, jackets and coats lol.

I also make my own soap, perfumes, EDP's, toiletries, bespoke floral disinfectants and fragrant lacquers, varnishes and wood/leather polishes with synthetic and natural fragrance oils, food flavour oils, concretes, absolutes, fixatives, volatility inhibitors and enhancers, perfumers alcohol plus glycerine and witch hazel as required.

I'm not a perfumer, I'm a herbalist and I learn everyday but it is vast subject like languages and computers etc.

Most of my best crazy creations were accidents !

To be perfectly frank I was happy with six frags but now I'm more groomed and looking after myself and smelling okay - I'm going out more often to posh do's etc and needed some decent aftershave for a change !
For a long time I hardly bought any frags or posh soaps myself - just some well chosen ouds and no alcohol attars and oils.

A lot of the time kind, well-meaning people bought me smellies and they weren't always entirely appropriate or agreeable - gawd bless 'em all.

This is not a justification or the main reason for the pile but you wouldn't believe it but you can use frags as tools - good ouds, attars and bespoke scents have got me some big contracts because if you smell classy and have a decent fitted suit and long coat and you know your onions and have zigged and zagged you get more respect and more noticed.

I have to go to functions and swanky joints to shake the bucket for my charities so that's my excuse lol

People in Asia and the Middle East wear fragrances like a Rolex or other good Swiss watch - it's part of the culture - Arabian perfumes going back millennia etc.

My house smells similar to Harrods or Bloomingdales - I've been to both lol!

I've collected allsorts of junk all my life lol.
Oud has got me contracts alright - but it wasn't cheap and took time to find !
Got to speculate to accumulate as they say.
You never get a second chance at a first impression etc.

Oh btw the reason why the frags are cheap is because I drank my pension and stock portfolio - nevermind - worse things happen at sea.
