Regarding plastic, I hear you there. Our recyclables end up in a landfill where I live.The Feather has been my favorite sharp blade for years. It was time to order more blades and I decided to go with blades in cardboard packaging. Feathers, unfortunately, are housed in plastic. I’m limiting my intake of plastic, nowadays.
Personally, I focus more on packaging for things other than a tuck of blades since the footprint is so small there. Paper packaging can be a mixed bag but, at least it generally doesn't hang around for a 1,000 years in most cases (some poly-treated papers are problematic though). What concerns me most is the huge packaging for a small item sonically welded into peg board plastic packaging that will outlive several generations of children. That and shipping DE razor blades half way around the Earth!
