Sharpest DE blades not a Feather?

The Feather has been my favorite sharp blade for years. It was time to order more blades and I decided to go with blades in cardboard packaging. Feathers, unfortunately, are housed in plastic. I’m limiting my intake of plastic, nowadays.
Regarding plastic, I hear you there. Our recyclables end up in a landfill where I live. ☹️

Personally, I focus more on packaging for things other than a tuck of blades since the footprint is so small there. Paper packaging can be a mixed bag but, at least it generally doesn't hang around for a 1,000 years in most cases (some poly-treated papers are problematic though). What concerns me most is the huge packaging for a small item sonically welded into peg board plastic packaging that will outlive several generations of children. That and shipping DE razor blades half way around the Earth!

Anything; small, medium, or large. If I can sub it for a faster biodegradable, I’m on board. Small items add up. That’s why I include razor blade packaging.

I understand the importance of plastic in our world. Medical, aeronautics, innovation. I get it. But your example of the small product in the huge packaging is well put. As are styrofoam packaging peanuts. And so much more.

Your point about shipping is well taken and was brought up on my post, asking for blade suggestions. Suneko and Kai are a long ways away from NYC. I hadn’t considered this and am glad it was mentioned.

Feathers are always listed as the sharpest. I’ve been single using them for over three years. Prior to my single use of Feathers I found the Gillette Nacet and the Bic Platinum to be second and third choice for sharpness.

I think that the BIC CP is probably the #2 in sharpness to the Feather. With the Nacet and Perma-Sharp being close behind.

The Bic CP is so awesome. It's the only blade i use and have stocked enough for my entire lifetime!

They are super sharp.

I like BiC CP and have like 500 of these in my stash. It’s one of my top 5 blades.

At a fraction of Feathers price.

But life without colours is boring so I use other blades too.

As good of a reason as any...

Blades are kind'a like Pants.
They are a personal choice.
Fit, comfort, durability, sharpness...well..nah.

There are no silver bullets here. Different Faces, Different Cases..
Feathers, Personnas(US) and BICs work for me.
Funny, my brother has the same damn thick, dense, fast growing gorilla itailian stubble.
He does care and can save with just about any blade.
