Very cool. I love Bakelite and have a French Gillette similar to that. It's a great shaver.

I think the early plastics like Bakelite look lovely almost wood-like and quite organic in appearance.
Of course they can get brittle with age; they just need a bit more care than modern plastics and I think they're great looking razors.
Out of my Birth Fathers estate.
Just arrived in the mail today.
3 mid 1960's Lady gillettes, pink, blue and yellow.
2 1980's ? Black adjustables.
1951 super speed.
1959 Fat boy.
Not pictured, black handle flair tip, blue flair tip and an Aristocrat. Plus a bunch of thin gillette blades.

Just got a matt black razor stand today which won't fit most of my razors and brushes - nevermind - Worse things happen at sea !
Also got a Yintal 9306XF brass adjustable butterfly which is brilliant ; just got a BBS in less than five mins for a touch-up with no drama on the max gap setting so it's a result and now I've got 4 heavy brass Yintals and they're all VG and bargains IMHO.
The new Shave Edge that came a few days ago was a bargain and had a lovely heavy stainless handle but the head needed a swap and is much more balanced now and easier to maneuver so I'm happy.
Just noticed the top plate is slightly adrift but that's a 2 sec job and no biggie to align.
I genuinely want that to be my last razor purchase - enough is enough !

Very nice! The Lady Gillette is an especially fine shaver - the pink is worth quite a bit more than the other colours I believe. The Thin and the Blue blades will work just fine if they are in good condition, I use them often.
It was 1/2 off day at another store. It is a GEM Junior, I think. It has a short handle, if that is what makes it so. The top opens up in the opposite direction of my other GEM Junior.
