RazoRock Merkur 34c HD clone in 316L incoming

OK. The only real problem with 34C i have is blade misalignment. Due cast technology and according tolerances.
I don't know are these guys trolls or plain let's say not very smart. You have a razor with perfect ergonomic integral part of it is its SHORT handle. With WIDE (or maybe should say thick ? non native speaker and speaker is exaggerated) end. And they made this abomination with this pathetic piece attached to one great designed head that is not Razorock's one by the way. And they sell plenty of wonderful handles if someone have problem with short and wide (if you do your technique sucks-sorry).
And there are plenty of ways to achieve good balance with short steel handle. Two holеs-free tip.
As always YMMV but i am pissed a lot. Had hopes. Now we have this.
Qaqi are you interested to make some money?

The balance would not be too dissimilar to the 34HD as the dimensions of the head and handle are very similar. The overall weight must be heavier than the 34HD as it is made from stainless steel but I expect you get used to that.
The Razorock GOAT is not a clone of the 34HD; they say it is homage to the German 34. It is the business end that is more important and the head appears to be designed to emulate the 34HD but with neutral blade exposure. That was not a good decision as the 34HD has positive blade exposure, so what is the point of this razor. I expect it will be a small production run to test the market.
I think we will have to wait for more reviews but I see many variations of blade gap and blade exposure on the horizon just like the GameChanger.

I am quite OK with heavier stainless steel 34HD. As Russians say heavy is good, heavy is reliable and if it does not work you can always trow it against enemy.
I have no idea about 34HD exposure. I doubt it's positive. I believe each batch from different die cast could vary by great measure compared to modern CNC razors.
By the way neutral blade exposure works well for me. More variations sounds good to me too. Just give me my short thick handle and i will be happy as pig in mud.

Not sure why everyone is calling this a 34C clone when the 34 is a "two-piece".

We all should know by now the 34C is not a three piece razor with removable handle.
The Merkur 33C is that.

Indeed. Though it shares the head design with the other Merkur OC and SB heads, they only have this one besides the obviously different Futur/Progress razors.

But we also know that the cap design changed for the Merkur 34 not so long ago. I now wonder if the same cap is now used for all the other Merkur razors sharing the head design as well.

I have never used the 34c. I do have a King C Gillette that appears to have a similar head design. I am curious how the KCG compares shavewise to the 34c and GOAT.
Not many will have tried all three razors but here is one comparison of the KCG, 34HD and R89; King C. Gillette... What have you done to me? - https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/king-c-gillette-what-have-you-done-to-me.601356/post-11126796]
Getting any comparisons with the GOAT is a bit premature as the razor has only just been sent into the market place.

I shaved a fortune

I don't know how the 33C and 34C compare when it comes to the actual shave... I know Gillette made the Raised Bottom Tech in both 2 and 3 piece razors... They reportedly shave a bit differently... but both are called the NEW Raised Bottom Tech (England), if my memory serves...

Not only the cap. Base plate also changed a little. It’s subtle, but it’s there.

I just put the Razorock GOAT through it's paces on a head shave and it's remarkably efficient. It stripped away all my stubble in one pass plus a little buffing. Perfectly balanced, efficient yet forgiving. No irritation at all to speak of. Razorock has another winner. I'll try it in my face tomorrow.

Can’t comment on the IB GOAT, but the KCG and r89 shave very similar. KCG is Gillette’s Chinese made variant which uses a top cap “inspired” from the x89s but uses a baseplate which somewhat resembles the 33c. Gillette Heritage uses the Mühle r89 head.

While I like the 34c, it does present noticeably more blade feel than the r89 or KCG does. Not as much as the 39c, but a bit more aggressive feeling.

I've been posting on the other thread that's also relevant to the Razorock GOAT. I had no idea this thread existed!
For anyone interested, here's my links to the post when I received it and a link to when I used it:
