Pipe Of The Day (POTD)

I don't recall what dinner was, if anything, but I definitely enjoyed the bowl of RLP-6 in my Dr. Grabow Collector's Choice billiard.

I currently have RLP-6 and LL-7 in something of a "smoke off" to see which will be my long-term, financially-sustainable alternative to Captain Black Original. It may end up being "both".

I love that 101 shape, I just got a Rossi version. Definitely have my eye on a Savinelli, too.

I had a Rossi Notte 8101. It's a stout billiard (big sucka)...and a bit large for my preference. The pipe had been ignored to the point that it's currently on the way, along with a few rack mates, to a Smokingpipes Estate review.

I prefer my Savinelli 129, it's just a bit smaller without being petite.

Remember to forget me!
A wee bowl of Grousemoor in the Falcon bantam billiard that's been tiding me over while the other pipes are packed away.

The lounge (and hallway) carpets are due to go down on Friday, so hopefully I should be unpacking the rest of the smokeables (and much more) over the weekend.

I have to admit I was a bit taken aback by the size of the bowl. I won't say it's too big, necessarily, but I might not have purchased it if I had seen it in person first. It's definitely at my outer limit, that's for sure. Good tip on the 129, thanks!

I may send a few in to SP, as well, sometime down the road.

That's what I though when mine arrived: OMG this thing is a beast.

And I don't shy from large pipes. I've got a couple of Ben Wade freehands with 1" diameter chambers that almost require two hands to smoke...I just prefer a smaller billiard.
