What's new

** pics ** B&B LE 2009 prototype ** pics **

just put my order in - woot!

Raymond - it will be many times denser than your penworks brush, and many MANY times better.

Those brushes are good, but they dont compare to the big name brushes. This brush is another step up, made to be the absolute best brush possible. If you can afford it, definately get it.

I'm still waiting for your Grade A comparison...

While I'm at it, you might want to send Simfix a memo then, because if their knots are denser than a PenWorks, my sense of touch needs to be re-evaluated.

Rooney not so much, however I never messed with a Kent so a direct correlation would be unfounded.

If I had a nickel for every post you had touting the stellar performance of Penworks brushes I'd be rich! Are you related to the family that owns penworks? :001_tt2:

Seriously, you almost make me want to try one but I've often heard them compared to the Golden Nib and while TGN offers decent affordable knots TGN isn't Rooney, Kent, Plisson, Simpsons, Shavemac etc. Good yes, that caliber no.

So, if Penworks knots and The Golden Nib knots are similar you definitely need to give the '09LE a try when it is available.

I've tested (and used) several TGN knots in various handles. Is a Penworks knot comparable to TGN or better? Which have you compared? What other brushes have you tested side by side against your favorite Penworks brush?

My grade a comparison?

I didnt say every other brush will be denser, just that this paticular brush will be much denser. Theyre decent brushes, dont get me wrong. But the knots just arnt quite as good (IMHO) as the knots the big makers put out.

Im interested in this, also

NO, no relation at all...

TGN and PenWorks/Penchetta = same difference

That being said the new Grade A knot is leaps and bounds ahead of the standard silvertip knot and the finest 2 band, not only is it denser its by far softer.

A side by side comparison for myself would be the 2-band Simfix PL2, and Rooney 2/1 finest this being in my actual fingers not in use.

*edit* Just to make things clearer, the Simfix was softer to the equal grade hair 2-band TGN however the TGN Grade A is right there with it and denser, the Rooney obviously was denser and about as soft.

gah its late

Have you compared the new Grade A silver tip TGN/PenWorks/Penchetta for yourself?
