Forcing myself to rank the MdC Scents, purely in terms of how they make me feel:

1. Fougere
2. Original
3. Magellan
4. Vetyver
5. Agrumes
6. Absinthe
7. Rose

There is such a minimal difference that I could live with any of the first four as my only soap. Absinthe may move up as, for now, I have not shaved with it. I could readily live without ever using Rose again, but, I have it, so it will stay in rotation.

Dutch Guido is correct about loading. 6-8 swirls with a 24mm boar gives me enough lather for a three-pass shave.

German Guido, Agrumes has a VERY mild scent on the face, if that matters. It is a beautiful lemony scent, though. I could easily rank Vetyver higher, but, my reference vetiver is Guerlain's classic EDT. Anything less is... less.

Thanks Bill @WThomas0814! I have a feeling that MdC and CSS might be the two I will end up with, with Tabarko closely behind for some reason. Although I will admit that Areffa is superb as well. Discoverer is nothing short of stellar. I will get there once I have shaved away my remaining soaps. So just another 5 years or so .

The camphorous note hits first, but, the almost piney thyme is dominant. Mellow, warm spices... cinnamon and clove, hints of vanilla. Truly beautiful.

As to favorite scent... I honestly can't pick.

I'd say I rather should try a sample first, as I did with the other three MdC scents mentioned. But... I'm not into camphorous scents...

Yeah, a little goes a long way with MdC. The samples I had lasted for a couple of shaves, although I most certainly loaded my brushes wastefully

I enjoyed the Agrumes scent of my sample, very subtle but naturally clean - in a good way. No detergant vibes...

I might have to give the Guerlain's classic EdT a sniff...

Comments: 2 day growth on coarse beard/sensitive skin. Good shave. 1445 is an amazing scent; lately I have been noticing I do not like creams equally as I like soaps, shaving soaps are gaining strong priority in my usage. Castle Forbes is great, but I would not say it is 5/5. It is solid 4/5 lather and 3.5/5 balm, it takes 2-3 hours for the balm to really be absorbed and your skin to go from irritated to normal. Brush, I have to say once you try unbleached and ungelled HMW Silvertip badger-nothing compares, I am not in love with bleached and gelled version in HLS anymore, I always think about the experience with unbleached and ungelled custom brush I made recently. Second time using the same Kai blade and I could feel it become more dull compared to the 1st time…resulting in increased skin irritation across lower-mid neck. I am getting close to settling down—Taiga OC or Rex Konsul XL/Rapira SS Blade-perfect on all terms/unbleached and ungelled Hmw silvertip badger/ soaps (Bio Cella/Mike’s Natural/MdC Vetiver)…As for now gotta finish what I have or I just might give it away. Rating: 8.8/10

Another excellent Palmolive shave. As a 365er, the .76 gets me a drama-free DFS easily enough.
