One Fantastic Soap!

And if you love this soap, but desire more variety scent-wise, there are many other TFS manufactured shaving soaps to consider that utilize the exact same, old trusted base formula. Over the years I have selected 4 superb soaps that are permanent members of my den.
Could you share which are your preferred soaps from TFS? From your taste for MdC and SV I expect those 4 to be truly good.
Thanks, Stoyan

I had the 125 ML and was running low on my other, more expensive stuff. I scratched out all my remainding PAA and Stirling left overs and filled the jars with that kilo brick of TFS. I absolutely love the face feel of this soap. It's like burrying your face in a satin pillow!

I'd have loved to love it (cheap, nice lather and nice scent) but my face was reacting to it :(
I couldn't tell if the issue was with the base or the almond fragrance.

Slickness is a sickness
Sure, here listed below:

- TFS Crema Purissima Per Barba
- RazoRock Plague Doctor
- RazoRock Santa Maria del Fiore
- Mastro Michè Revisited Rive Gauche Shaving Stick

Do you know if all of the Razorock soft soaps use the TFS base? I've got a few that I use regularly:

xXx
xXx Fresco
Acqua
Essence of Lime
Classic Italian (replaced by TFS red in my rotation)

All of the RR soaps that I've tried shave great (and smell pretty good too).

A great soap base that has been around for.a while now.

I took part in a group buy back in 2012, before it was readily available and inexperience for everyone to buy. RazorRock really brought the makert price down when they started using it for their soap bases at an affordable price.

I still have my jar from the group buy; I had it in my hands last night but I chose RL Safari SS w/ Tallow instead for today's shave.

Anyone else like this soap?
Yes, this is great soap. Same base and many Razorock soft Italian soaps that are made by TFS. It's part of my soap rotation.

FYI that Italian Barber has kilo bricks of this soap in a box back in stock for $19.99 or the equivalent of $2.50 per red tub.

Ignoring trace elements the one Razorock soft soap I own that appears to have a different base is Mudder Focker. See post #37 in the thread linked below. I've the TFS "Red Bowl", RR Classic Italian, XXX and P.160 (current formulation) that all use the same base.

I'm curious how the TFS Red Bowl soap performs compared to the Santa Maria del Fiore. I know the ingredients lists are not exactly the same, but there seems to be a lot of similarity. I like the SMDF (used it today).

Anyone care to share your experience?

BTW, is the Mastro Michè Rive Gauche Revisited soap similar to the Razorock hard soaps like Black Label, etc.?

Sir, the only main difference is of course the scent. The two soaps perform very, very similarly since they share the exact same TFS base formula. Santa Maria del Fiore has some extra trace ingredients added, but to me they do not improve or modify performance compared to the Red Bowl. Both are excellent.

Not all of them. Joe and uncle Michael (zio Michele) have their soaps made by different manufacurers. The hard pucks and sticks are NOT made by TFS.

Ah, I know those are your favourites. I thought you mean some of the other TFS branded soap like Stupefacente, Vecchia Torino and some more which are available on Rasoigoodfellas site. Do you know how they compare to Razorock soft soaps considering TFS makes them all and they are in the same price range?

Sir, the answer is very simple here: TFS makes them all by using the same old trusted formula. Some have trace ingredients added, but these do not affect performance, they are all great. Therefore, the sole main difference is in the fragrance that each single soap has. Just look at the scent profile and buy the one that inspires you more.
I tested Vecchia Torino and it has a refined cologne-like fragrance, the scent an elegant Italian gentleman ideally put on in bygone days.
That said, TFS Crema Purissima Per Barba remains my n°1 pick among TFS own branded soaps. It's their very first creation, the original and still the very best for me.
