Nib Acquisitions for November 2012

I received the black Pilot Metropolitan after I arrived home today.

I was very impressed with the pen; the workmanship is excellent, and the nib is a very smooth writer. I filled it with Noodler's Massachussetts 54th Blue Black ink.

Hopefully I can provide some images and/or scans tomorrow for you folks.

1946 Parker Vacumatic. Bought it as a Blue Diamond. It is Blue Celluloid, and the nib is two tone. It is bigger than the Pearl Vac I bought last month. It is in beautiful working condition and looks great!

Maybe it's what they call a "long Major" -- I've got a couple, they're about a 1/4" longer but the same diameter.

Nice score, Dave!

A very nice Parker 51 vacumatic ... I "bought" it during the St Sue Cancer Auction, but it finally* arrived today. With it came a Lamy 'bonus pen' ... again underlying the generosity of B&B members.

So that two-tone gold nib has me wondering. Can you spot the date code?

Vacsoteric question: How many feathers on the nib ... seven?

That stacked coin "51" looks familiar.... to bad it has to sit next to a Lamy..... guess thats better then a TWSBI :001_tt2:

I don't have a Hero, but I could arrange a photo of a 51 Flighter sandwiched between a couple of TWSBI's and Lamys if you want.
