Please heal quickly, David. Prayers still ongoing for your Bride’s recovery.

If you go back to your Feather Artist Club fun, I’m sure your Shinumi will understand.
Thank you, my friend. :)

I have some really good liquid coagulate. Stopped the bleeding quickly and effectively.

Back to the AC Straights for Saturday's shave. :)

First, my prayers for your wife, as always.
second, kudos for being able to use various straight razors. I don't have the guts to give it a go. I am just learning to use the DE and SEs correctly.
Hi Wally. Thank you for your kind thoughts. 🙏

I hope to improve my skills re: the AC blade folding and non-folding SRs. So far, the Feather AC Folding SR seems to be the most predictable and provides consistent, very acceptable results.

Doubtful that I'll go down the true SR rabbit hole. The AC blade SRs are enough fun on their own. ;)

The Facón AC Blade Shavette is very similar in looks and performance to the Feather SS Artist Club Japanese Straight Razor. Comparing the two, I slightly prefer the Feather razor. My shave with the Facón was a very good, very comfortable CCS. No blood. My face is much happier than it was yesterday. :)

Same Supporting Cast since Sunday. Very satisfying.

Excellent shave!

New Supporting Cast this week. Plenty of notes and musings throughout My Journal on all of these items. Very satisfying! :001_wub:

Long day with lots of appointments. Late dinner Didn't have time to shave until just now. Decided to go for a 1-pass WTG wwith my new Kai Kasho Captain Woody SR. For my beard, a 1-pass SAS+ is impressive. The Kai has a very intuitive feel. I'll keep my remarks brief for now. More to follow on Friday, when I go for the gusto with the Kai.

Superb 1-pass SAS+!

Went with a full 3-Pass shave today with the Kai Kasho Captain Woody SR. I have large hands. The Kai feels more comfortable to hold and shift around as needed - more secure. The Kai also feels more predictable during the shave than the Feather. Overall, a smooth and very effective razor!

Same Supporting Cast since Sunday! Very consistent and satisfying!

I followed your SABRE link and am new to the Cremo-as-official-pre-shave concept.

That said, I do something related, but I now see I'm not alone.

I'm a head shaver (because I'd rather look like Lex Luther than Dr. Phil). I shave my head in the shower, my mug at the sink.

I use Cremo on my head in the shower, but I scrub the excess into my beard and let it sit there to soften up my rebar whiskers while I peel my melon.

Rinse, get out, towel dry everything but my whiskers, Proraso white pre-shave, soap or cream of the day, and I'm off to the races.

Anyway, seeing that you're using Cremo as a pre-shave validates my own practice that I just kind of stumbled into to deal with my cursed, über-coarse whiskers.

Sidenote: I'm also a big Nivea booster. It's as good as any balm out there at a fraction of the cost. I use others for variety only.

Glad to hear that you found a process that works well for your head shaves and face shaves.

Cremo isn't fancy, but it softens the whiskers and is extremely slick. :)

No, it's not. But, ya know, like a lot of us on here, I've found a lot of unfancy stuff that works great and a lot of fancy stuff that works poorly.* And I've found a lot of fancy stuff that works great and unfancy stuff that works poorly.

As ever, our mileage may vary.

*I value the variety, but the shave I get from Cella is in the same class as the shave I get from SV.
