Mike's? Palmolive? La Toja? Speick? HELP!

Tailor of old Bond Street does a Sandalwood stick. It was a bit heavy for me.

I prefer tallows, and have Spieck, Palmolive, and Mike's sticks in my travel kit. I have several Mike's and Spieck in a bowl at the house. When I get done with the Palmolive stick, it'll probably get loaded with MWF. I'm not a big fan of La Toja, because its a touch drying as has been said.

You can do about any soap into a stick, and I've bought a couple of these for the travel kit. I like em a lot.

Some guys like Tabac as well, and they make a stick.

Given the prices in Europe, Palmolive is a great value. But once imported in the USA (or other parts of the world), it may become too expensive for the quality? It's a great soap (I actually prefer the creme), but not high end. I wouldn't pay $5 for a stick, for instance.

It's $3-4 typically, but its not found locally in stores (except for a few select retailers in large cities), so add shipping to that. It's not too expensive to add to larger order. Still a lot more expensive than Europe.

I think I paid € 0.75 last time ... $4 sounds expensive.

At least buy La Toja, Palmolive and Speick. All of them are great soaps. Mike's, I've never tried it, but people say that it is good.

Great responses gents. I'm getting a lot of info here. So far I think this is where we stand:
1. Speick seems to be the most popular but the "stronger" smelling of the bunch, but not bad. YMMV
2. Palmolive is the bang-for-your-buck and a great overall performer to my specs.
3. Mike's seems to be the best of the bunch for moisturizing, but some gents have issue lathering.
4. La Toja is well regarded but some find that it dries and could be irritating.
6. Barrington and Mann needs to be in my list and is comparable to Mike's
7. Wilnkinson should also be considered.
8. Last and most important of all, all are great choices and a matter of personal preference, and apparently I just found myself at the beginning stages of my SAD...:scared:

Be strong Pedro, resist the urge to go on a shopping spree...:lol::lol:
