Karve Goatlander Brotherhood (KGB)

October 16, 2024 Wednesday shave

Razor: Karve Overlander, brass
Blade: Gillette Nacet (1)
Soap: Black Ship Siren's Song sample
Brush: Paladin Tut w/Muhle STF XL by @Rudy Vey
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Aftershave: Ice Blue Aqua Velva

Today's shave was a pure delight. The light and lovely scent from the Black Ship Siren's Song was very pleasant, and had great slickness and cushion. The Rudy Vey brush is a fave and performs exceptionally well. The Goatlander and Nacet produced a BBS quality shave. Needless to say, it was a great way to start the day!

October 28, 2024 Monday shave

Razor: Karve Overlander, aluminum
Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (1)
Soap: Barrister and Mann Le Grand Chypre
Brush: Oumo Compass 29mm ST-1
Bowl: Captains Choice Heavyweight copper
Aftershave: Captain's Choice Nor'easter

I started off the week right with a great shave, thanks to the Overlander, Perma-Sharp and B&M. Gotta love the Overlander it always gives easy, close shaves!
Even though the lather was a little thin, it still performed well. 10/10

Blade: Perma-Sharp (1)
Soap: Cella red
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Silvertip badger
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper

Today's three pass exercise resulted in a very good shave. No drama, just a bit of buffing required to get the super close shave I wanted. All the players performed flawlessly. 10/10 baby seal smooth!

About 7 months in with the Aluminium Overlander, and probably had my best shave with it yet. Honestly I found the Overlander underwhelming from the get go, but today was a real revelation: patience and technique rewarded with a delightful, comfortable shave that can compete with ANY razor on the market.
Blade was Dorco Titan (0), which wasn't expected to perform highlevel as it made my last shave with the Bison a tugging uncomfortable affair.

Goldilocks razor indeed!:pipe:

This happened to me. I was using the Bison exclusively ... then one day I picked up my aluminum Overlander. And it was like coming home. I can't explain exactly how it felt. But it was -- just right. After a while I began using my SS Overlander -- sometimes swapping with my Athena. But probably for the last month I've exclusively used my SS Overlander. For me, the Overlander is my grail or Goldilocks razor.

Heh, having said that. I do have another razor coming. But this one uses an AC blade (Alpha Spirit SE). So it's completely different. :) I doubt it will replace my grail razor. But I'm hoping it will be nearly as comfortable as the Overlander.
