Is Scrubbing Bubbles ok on my Henson aluminum razor?

There's an old adage that goes:

The dose makes the poison.

Water is necessary for life, but if you drink gallons of it in a single setting, you could die.

I use SB on a lot of items. I wipe them down with a paper towel wetted with SB, then immediately rinse.
I've done it with my Maxwell June razor which is aluminum with no ill effect, at least so far.
I wouldn't soak my aluminum razors in it, as I'm not the type that is prone to boiling razors in CLR in an autoclave, so...

This may be an instance where a cheap ultrasonic isn’t a bad thing. Used dish soap, hot water, three minutes and the razors I was putting away were nice and clean.

I refuse to buy aluminum razors just because I know how strong that stud would be you thread the handle into. I‘m a professional in the automotive field and I still break bolts that are made from aluminum by accident. Over multiple tightenings it’s only a matter of time before it fails.

Everything @ShavingPrimate said.

You need a weak acid - a 50%/50% solution of white vinegar and water should do it. I use a weak solution of citric acid which I buy for deliming my tea pots, but vinegar should work as well.

Right you are. Soft calcium deposits will dissolve before eroding into the metal.

Clean your razor then rinse it and dry it off, done.

If you are still concerned, you could put some baking soda in a tub and give your razor a quick dip to neutralize any acid before your rinse.

Buy a bottle of distilled water and use lt to make your shaving lathers. Not only will it solve your razor problem, but it will also make it so you end up with much better lather for your shaves.
You can thank me later.

Try rinsing, taking apart and drying your razor with a microfibre towel after every shave. DO NOT Leave the blade in ANY razor.

I happened to notice that I had a can of Scrubbing Bubbles in the bathroom.

I thought, why not? So I went through and cleaned my razors earlier today. They were fairly clean but now they are all nice and shiny.

Will do this on occasion now. It seems to do a good job and it is mild enough not to do any damage. My razors are stainless steel and brass. No aluminum, but it should be OK with aluminum too.

I use the bottle with the green lid on all my used or vintage acquisitions before a soap soak with no issues.

I wonder if that would be too abrasive...
+1 !!!!!!!

Scrubbing Bubbles is also abrasive. It's not advertised as such, but it's something that's _not_ approved by Bathfitters (who make acrylic shower liners).

Dawn / hot water / toothbrush won't hurt anything -- at least, nobody has reported damage here, and we have a lot of members!
