Is it a good idea to shave on talc?

I used to use Clubman Talc on my face when I used an electric razor.

Since I didn't do any prep, my skin was usually oily. The talc kept the whiskers from sticking flat on my face. It actually helped quite a bit.

But, applying any water to it?... I think would make it a pasty mess.

Well, when I used it, no water was applied.
It was done after the shave was over and finished.

The only thing i can realte shaving/talc to is what i once read in a mens grooming mag, that in hot sweaty conditions use talc on your face before using an electric razor as it will soak up the perspiration:confused1

I think the talc would be very abrasive on the blade.

Talc is one of the softest subtances there is, in terms of hardness and would not wear down the steel.

Not to say it would make the shave much less enjoyable. It seems to me it would get gunky, and lubricate very well, but who knows, if you try let us know!
