Thanks, Matthew. I wrote to him and suggested he read B&B to get better information.

Well at least they got the hot water/towel prep part right. And surprisingly no dark warnings about the cutthroat being a specialists tool. And how about describing the basic properties of a good DE razor correctly? Frankly I am stunned.

Cheers, Todd

I thought he did a reasonable job. Straight razors, he claimed, probably give the closest shaves, followed by DE, carts, and disposables.

He forgot the SE razors, though. :biggrin1:

Yes, the article and video got as much wrong as it did right. But at least it emphasized the importance of prep and the superiority of using a brush to lather with. In the video, I found it interesting that the female anchor said she used a brush for lathering when she shaved her legs.

I found her suggestion of using a brush to be the most informed part of the article. The guest was definitely in the pocket of the multi-blade cartridge shaving industrial complex. A multi-blade razor that vibrates and has "skin guards" so you don't cut yourself? I don't think so.

Well, what did you expect? The guy on the video is even worse. I suspect this article is just a sponsored ad by various cosmetic companies.

What a load of crap. It's almost as bad as some of the British shave blogs.

Jim, where did you get his e-mail address? Clicking on his name does no good. I also could not find his name in the hard-copy Journal I have at home.

A rather uninspiring article with several 'errors'. Either
1. the writer is a wetshaver and sadly enough has not been frequenting B+B enough, or
2. the writer knows little about shaving, and used propaganda/'information pieces' from the sponsors/advertisers for his paper as a reliable source of data/information.
I suspect the latter.
