Got lucky with dead badgers
Why do you dry your soap especially when GD is such a thirsty soap to start with. Water is part of what makes this soap what it is.
Am I missing something

"Molten" made my face molten when I used it. :) I left it with the lid off to get rid of some of the fragrance volatiles in an attempt to reduce the fragrance ingredient that was burning my face. It worked, too. I can now use Molten without burning my skin from one of the fragrance ingredients that just doesn't play well with my skin. Rather than lighting my face up so hot that it wasn't possible to get through a shave, I now just get a pleasant warming feeling from it.

Water is an important part of the manufacturing process, but luckily when it's lost after the soap has cured, it doesn't effect the performance of the soap. My dried out Molten works just as well as when it was new.

I'd love to make a thread and walk you guys through a bunch of different shave soap cooking sessions, but unfortunately the moderators won't allow it. I completely understand their reasons for it though, so I'm not complaining one bit.

My soaps are not for sale, but the moderators are put in a bad position... if they allowed me to post threads about cooking soap, and then later put my soaps up for sale, well... needless to say that would be a very bad thing.

OK, I've really derailed this thread... let's get back to GD and Mo's awesomeness! My apologies @Chan Eil Whiskers !

After throwing it around for a bit I pulled the trigger on a Fougère. This’ll be my first mallard base soap so hopefully it’s as good as all the others I have.

Also noticed a couple new scents pop up - Voyage (vegan) and Cascade (Lusso).

Voyage actually has been out before.

Did you also notice, all the other scents are.... GONE!!!!!

I have been patiently waiting for certain ones to return since they were listed to be back some time ago. I heard that Mo was working on label last I heard. This is the second time the list of offerings has 'changed' not to my liking.

I would rather Mo offer a filter that shows what is available and what is part of the current lineup. If the soap will no longer be made, then totally remove it. Also, I would love for a release schedule page that is accurate.

Show me what is, what will be and when and I would be a much happier man.

Patiently waiting....

I would actually love to see ALL of the soaps he has released with a note of the ones that are discontinued. This allows those who want to know scent notes to see them if they pursue them on the secondary market.

I have about 15-16 of the GD soaps. I too would like to go back and be able to see all the releases on a website which would allow me to be able to review the scent notes.

I purchased Laundry. I first must say I like the scent of the Body Shop Maca Root scent. This scent is different like other posted stated, like dryer sheets is the closest I can relate to. All around a great performer and look forward to using the Verita and Citric I purchased. I will use this soap for the performance and not the scent.

Fumbling about.
I'm not entirely sure if this is on the horizon. Could be it's a ship which sailed, but I think "Coming Soon" means it's coming soon.

Or, maybe, too clever by half.

In any case, I don't need any more Grooming Dept soaps anytime in the next year or four, but this one is appealing I think.

Were I using my non-GD soaps I wouldn't need any more soaps in the next lifetime or four.

Happy shaves,

Jim

I doubt it's been released yet.

Veyr curious about the balms and toners, I hope Mo does ramp up the production for everything on his website.

Finally had a chance to take a whiff of my Valencia and Fougère last night. Valencia has an interesting scent, very orange by some undertones that seem a bit musky to my nose (probably the ceder wood). Overall I like it and I'm sure it will perform just as well as barbershop.

Fougère has a very nice scent to it. Not overpowering like some of my other soaps from GD but very pleasing to my nose. It is my first mallard base so I did a small test lather last night. I'm impressed with how easily it whipped up now I just have to dial it in.

Used Veritas yesterday and my only regret is not getting more. This is absolutely wonderful.

Among the GD soaps that I have, this is definitely my favorite scent. Refinded, leaning towards masculine and yet not over the top and cloying. I hope it comes back, and in full force.

Yeah, I picked up the Fougere on the second batch he listed. It's my first duck fat and actually enjoyed the scent and feel. Didn't have it completely dialed in but it was a pleasant shave. Tempted by Voyage but am not sure I need another soap in my ever expanding collection.
