First Straight

There will probably be some blood, so don't be surprised if it happens. I think it's like learning to ride a bike; it's tricky at first, and you'll probably get some minor cuts, but all of that is just part of the learning process. Once you get the hang of it, the feeling is like no other. Ask tons of questions, and best of luck.

So says user named "gash".....:scared:

The blade will only go where you put it! But it takes a little bit to figure out what cuts the hair and what cuts the skin. So maybe 2 wtg for starters , if its going good, then continue. If your flustered than maybe the de can finish it. Slicker lather, no Mr softee ice cream lather where you cant see and short strokes an inch or so until you get the hang of it. My neck grows left to right so I used to shave the face and jawline completely, dry off and use the dry skin on the face to lift the stubble on the neck. I don't have to anymore but that was the only way to get a bbs on the neck for me.DOnt be afraid to experiment. Every man has to learn what strokes will shave their face. My way is only relevant to my beard grain.

I always have 66s, right now I have 15 of each 200s 208s and 100s. Can ship tomorow. Second hone free ( you pay the ship).

I got my 200 last week and shaved with it this morning. After I got over the initial intimidation (Bill sends these wicked sharp!) I found the razor quite easy to shave with and the results were bbs.
Can't beat the price and the shave ready finish for a first straight. I've had a vintage Wade and Butcher 8/8 wedge in my collection no where near shave ready. It has just been fully restored and is on the way back.
Looking forward to using it as I like heavy DE's and might feel the same with the straight. At least I now have two distinctly different razors to work with.

To be perfectly honest, I can't see myself selling a GD even barely modded and shave-ready for the low price Buca is getting, nor selling a custom for what Seraphim is getting. These prices are crazy cheap and anybody looking for a razor needs to see what these guys have ready to ship before even considering a Dovo, particularly a Dovo Best Quality. I'm talking major bang for the buck, from these guys.

After quietly reading the forums for a month and being prepared to buy some "expensive/pretty" straight razors, I decided to take this advice today.

I figure there will be time later for the "expensive/pretty" after I have some experience under my belt.

Thank you Slash

Thanks and enjoy it. WHen you want real pretty though, buy one from Seraphim, he does incredible things with them.

I did... I bought one from him 5 minutes after buying one from you... they both were appealing to me... I was being literal when I said I took Slash's advice.... LoL
