Does anyone else want one as bad as me but cannot choose between shaving and growing? It's killing me! I know that personally, even though my face is premature, I can have a pretty good looking "beard" in a months time that will be the talk of my graduating class and i'm seriously considering it!

But this shaving supplies is kiiiilllliiinnggg meeee. I love shaving but I love the thought of a beard. Sadly, shaving wins me over by just a tid because of this board and I can't get myself to put down my metal and badger!

Help! Thoughts?

I rock a closely cropped beard but, I still shave my neck. Grow your beard and cut your shave-able area nearly in half, (depending on the length of your neck.) I know some people don't shave their neck when they have a beard but, that's a little too Grizzly Adams for me. To each his own.

I've rocked a beard with no major temperature problems (though one summer I did resemble Bjorn Borg). But it took years of shaving before I felt confident enough to grow a serviceable one. Can't hurt to try, but don't get your hopes up.

I had a beard for about 5 years before I joined here and started shaving again.

You will definitely want to shave the neck! It used to cause me irritation no matter how long the hair was, and a hairy neck just looks daft

I used to shave from te inside of the jawbone down and trimmed the beard back to 6mm every week.

I grow a full beard every winter, I usually start around November and leave it until about March, shaving my neck and cheek areas. Part of the fun is shaving it off in the end and playing with the different styles as I go, if only to freak out SWMBO, she hates the porn 'stash!

I tried growing a Bushrager beard, but lasted a month before I took it off. It looked awesome on me, but I was itching to shave!

Best shave of my life was the day it came off. So Smooth!

I'm the same I don't know if I should grow a full beard or shave every day lol
I was a member of jeffsbeardboard before I signed up here which is a bit weird.

If you prefer the look of you with a beard, then go for it. I'm quite young like you (I'm 22) and I'm going to wait until I'm a bit older to grow a full beard.
If you're thinking of growing a beard and have patchy growth, personally I'd say leave it a while for it to fill in it will look a lot better and more mature

I grow a beard every winter out of habit from the short time in college I worked on the truck docks (no climate control at all)...but I live in the midwest and we get pretty cold in the winter compared to Texas.

It sucks that I don't get to shave as much, but it gives you a lot of practice for the neck area.
