Notes:

Summary. Effective start of the week with this birth year razor. I did step on the gas too much on my right cheek and had to pay for my ignorance.

First run with the Lord Cool and I can simply state that I am turning into a Lord fan. Nice blade with good sharpness while providing that comfort and smoothness I want in a blade.

Enjoy your shave!

I write only a few lines because I returned to the second test with the Sharp Platinum 7 AM blade, I used the Yaqi Mellon with De Vergulde hand shaving soap, shaving brush simple Zenith.
The blade always seemed to me to be well sharp, it cut well on Yaqi Mellon I felt it has good depth of cut and good smoothness.
This time in the post shave I had only a little redness but nothing serious.
Today this Sharp 7 AM behaved correctly on my face, for a complete and better evaluation we will see in the coming days how the judgment of this blade.
The next candidate razor for use with this blade is the Fatip Gentile
Now I am curious to read your opinions and comments on Lord Cool , those of @Guido75 already seem very flattering.
I will consider for a sample pack purchase.

So i have the Super-Max Blue Diamond. There is also a Super-Max Diamond Edge which I believe is the successor to the Blue Diamond.

I guess it doesn't really matter, since Super-Max has been out of business for approximately 2 years so it's splitting hairs which discontinued blade we are reviewing. LOL.
By now, the love-hate toward Sharp blades has made me even forget the existence of Super-Max blades.

I'm sorry Alex that the Sharp Titanium are not your best blades, surely there must be some other of the Sharp blades.

Besides, there are so many blades that one should not be sorry if some are not our favorites.
Oh, you're right, Roberto. It's more a function of me having 100 of the Titaniums and 200 of the LOI Titaniums. :) I'm also the kind of guy that likes the off-beat stuff. Like I used to buy Royal Crown Cola, an obscure soda, instead of Coca-Cola. It's just too easy to head straight for the Gillettes, you know?

I like the off-beat stuff as well. I also have 100 LOI blades. I have not tried them yet, but I am sure they will be fine for me. The only blade that has challenged me on one blade one week is the Tiger Platinum, but I will have a rematch one day.

Shave 1 with the Lord Cool
1000005448.jpg

I had a great shave today with the Lord Cool! I enjoy using Lord Cools! They do not have the whisker melting capabilities of the GSB or Nacet but they are close for me. They delivered a 2 pass BBS shave in the WR1 .74, with little alum feed back and minimal aftershave sting! I should have bought 100 when they were on Jeff's River store!

Summary. Good and close shave with a fantastic razor and brush.

Blade on its second run. Easy peasy. I do notice stubble returning quite early on and today I feel a little of a burn on the cheeks - could be the razor/blade combination, but aftershave sting was also approaching yodelling levels.

Do you find the Lord Cool sharper than the Asco SS?

I like the off-beat stuff as well. I also have 100 LOI blades.
I think the term unusual blade is the most appropriate and fitting definition of a Sharp.
One day you love it and enjoy shaving with it, the next day you don't like it very much. :sob:
It's like the weather ...nice every other day, at least for me.

For me the Lord Cool and the ASCO (orange) are very similar. I get full week(~6 shaves) worth of shaves from both. Pleasant shaves as that. I have the ASCO a bit higher in my rankings, but it is not much difference between them. A little more shave comfort variability with the Lord Cool than the ASCO.

I am pretty sure the LOI will be fine. I have had no problems with the Sharp blades and since these are from the same factory I am sure I will be fine with the LOI.

This was a wonderful shave on 2 days growth. The Cool is the best Lord blade I have used this year. It is sharp, efficient, and comfortable! I had a single with-the-grain pass and only needed to touch up the area underneath my nostrils but I blame that more on the razor. I am eager to try the Lord Cool with a razor I use more regularly.

@Pinto90 The iRazor is OK, but I don't recommend buying it. Mine has a small issue with blade alignment. Most of the time, you can jiggle and adjust and get the blade to line up correctly when you have these issues in a three piece, but it's not possible to do in a butterfly razor design. The iRazor has no blade feedback at all. Complete silence. I generally like "quiet" but I do need a bit of response to tell me how well I am cutting. It has little blade gap and this makes rinsing soap and whiskers more difficult during a shave. The head is large and bulky and hairs underneath your nose are tough to trim. Finally, I would consider it a mild razor, but on the high side. The Lord Cool cuts very well in it - I'll say that.

The Lord Cool is much sharper than the ASCO to me. Night and day difference in my opinion. To me, it's also sharper than the Lord Racer and (obviously) the Shark Super Chrome.

I'm glad we shall be testing the Silver Star - the match up will be interesting for sure.

I think we can put to bed the idea that Lord only makes a few blades and then sells them under multiple labels. The Cool is not the Racer and is not the ASCO.

@cranewarrior Thanks for the review. It was just what I wanted to read about a delicate razor, however I see that you ,like other users who have reviewed it, also experience problems with blade alignment inside so I don't think I will buy it.

Lord Cool is intriguing me to purchase a package as well.
Of the Lord production blades I wonder what happened to the Rainbow razor blades it seems they are no longer found on RBC, amazon or elsewhere.
