Gillette o'clock Super Platinum blade 2, shave 3.

I got my standard two passes plus shave quickly done this morning, no nicks were noticed. The overall experience was enjoyable, the bladefeel with this combo was rather muted. Solid efficiency. An effortless shave.

That is perfect for me since we're in Vintage April, and I don't fear the Feather so much in milder razors.

I missed out on the 7OC Blacks. Everything is a bit crazy here right now. I do have some on hand and will try to catch up with them at some point. Feather? Now you are talking my language! I already know that next week's shaves will be *chef's kiss*!

My wife and I left on a trip to the Texas Hill Country and she packed my toiletry kit. I told her to be sure to add a couple Super Platinums to it..she did, but Astra SP.
We'll be home Sunday so I'll be ready for the Feathers!

The newest addition to the Gillette collection.

New blade today. It felt, 'tuggy'. . . Not sure that's the right word. The sensation lessened as the shave went on so perhaps a coating that wears off? Very close 2 pass shave with no drama. The ABC razor has a bunch of blade feel though, which coming from my Game Changer 68 and 76 took a couple strokes to get used to.

Shave #3 - Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinum

My Super Speed belonged to my dad. I don't think he used it that much, but my mom said it was part of a care package given to us by our Presbyterian church when we moved to Texas as sponsored refugees. We were members of that congregation for years and my dad even was ordained a deacon at one point. The church was the basis of many of memories like communal suppers and watching with varying degrees of awkwardness as people from a very alien at the time culture tried to be welcoming to my family.

I've thought about getting the Super Speed replated to be prettier, but its condition tells an interesting story too. Who knows who used to own it and what travels it had been through, before it was donated and given secondhand (third or fourth?) to a refugee of the Vietnam wars?

I would keep it just the way it is - Clean and servicable, but not altered. That razor has a lesson and story to be passed down to your family's descendants; something to be proud of.

Went back to my regular rotation for a few days and had a lovely shave today my OC Blackbird on the right, and the 1.20 Blutt on the left. BBS/BBS- on both sides, though the Blackbird got their a bit more quickly. The Blutt had a bit less facial impact. Regardless, both were superb shaves and the blade was an excellent fit for both.

I have a black tip in worse condition, with a bad crimp, but no story.

Definitely leave it. it is perfect now. The brass doesn't really need nickel to protect it. You can just get a different one if you want a shiny super speed.
