do not get that global please! chefknivestogo.com has good selection of japaneses knives, you don't have to do a group buy, knifeforum.com has a kitchen section on the forum and that is where you will find true japanese knife enthusiast. and I would probably stay away from carbon knives because you have to constantly wipe them down, they can begin to rust in 10-15 minutes
I don't think Globals will be purchased. Carbon is a maybe, I prefer them. Trust me, there are serious kitchen knife enthusiasts here and we won't be disappointed in the group buy.
