Sorry I haven’t had a chance to reply to your PM but I would suggest La Faulx + and No 7 0.9 for head shaving. Both of these will be very smooth yet efficient. If you like a little blade feel then the ++ and 1.1 may be more to your liking. I use the La Faulx ++ and No 7 1.1 but do have the 0.9 as well and it is not far behind the 1.1 but is a tad more gentle. Of course I only shave my face not my head. If your head skin is not sensitive you may be ok with the larger gaps.Didn't know they had a scale. Has that always been there a while or is it new? Looks new to me. Thanks for posting the link.
Edit : I just had a play around with it and it seems really cool. The numbers change on the amount of days between shaves. I selected 5/6 for skin and blade feel and then 6/6, 6/7, but depending on the the number of days, it changes them around a bit. If I do 6/7 with 2 days, it says 0.9 and past halfway of the + and closer to ++ for me.
What numbers have you selected to get your rating?
I'm definitely going to try taking advantage of the BF sales and get something, just trying to get it right the first time if I can.
I was all set on La Faulx ++ and maybe No. 7 1.1 (I'd been sitting on these numbers the past month with my own thoughts based on the description for each blade gap on the AD website). Have said that, I've been speaking to a couple of people the past few days, and they've suggested the + and either 0.7 or 0.9 if going with No. 7.
That's sort of making me rethink it as I'm a head shaver and maybe too aggressive might not work. I tend to do first pass with the grain, then the second and third pass both against the grain. At this point, I still usually have stubble on the back of my head, so I do more against the grain passes and buffing in certain spots. I don't want something that is too inefficient, but still want something that is comfortable for all those passes.
