Still cruising along with the La Faulx loaded with said Kai blade (7).
Another excellent shave, another buttery smooth one. "Two passes plus". Just nice. Almost BBS. 👍

Today, I completed my shave with the same result as yesterday. The Kai Captain classic (8) isn't entirely done, but I will pause shaving with this blade at this point.

The upcoming shaves will be done with a fresh Feather Professional instead.

But I'll sneak in a few shaves with other razors first... they are already getting jealous🤣

Cheers!

OK, I'm on the fence here. I have a brass La Faulx with both + & ++ plates and I'm quite smitten. Now my number is coming up soon to acquire a WR4, of which I have none. My dilemma is do I go for the WR4 or a Ti La Faulx ++? Is there that much difference between brass and Ti for the LF?

I had the same dilemma. I ended up ordering a hollow Wolfman bronze handle. It matched up perfectly with my bronze La Faulx. I do prefer the razor balance to be slightly tilted towards the razor head, so YMMV.

So you're pretty much set on La Faulx ++ baseplate? Is that the sweet spot for you? Not too aggressive (this is the baseplate I am looking to buy if/when I get La Faulx). If so, I don't know if the Wolfman would be any better. What blade gap where you looking at with the Wolfman?

I spoke to a member the other day that uses La Faulx classic and ++, he also tried the WR4, but said for him, he still liked La Faulx better (it was more comfortable for his skin), so he stuck with that over the WR4. Of course, doesn't mean you'll have the same results, though.

I have the + and ++ in brass. Of the two, I prefer the ++ because it's so smooth while being a close shaver. So I was contemplating repeating that with Ti. But since I don't have a WR4, I was thinking why not? Variety is nice.

I have a Vector which is a mixed bag for me. Sometimes we get along great and then it just becomes tuggy. I'd hate it if the WR4 did that to me. The LF though, is just such a pleasure to use.

I was considering a .6 gap for the WR4 to keep it on the mild side.

Yeah, that is a good idea if you already have La Faulx to get the WR4 for a bit of variety. It's just a bit of a gamble if you'll like it as much.

I have the Vector only, and I agree with you 100%. Sometimes it's OK, but also tuggy for me over half the time. That's why I am looking at La Faulx. I think I've narrowed it down to the ++ for it.

I was also looking at the WR4, and with that, I was initially thinking 0.7 as I had some feedback from a fellow member who's opinion I regard highly on the AU shaving forum I go to, he said he was able to borrow the 0.7 (he both face shaves and head shaves). Then I saw Hong's chart (Have you seen Hong's chart? It's a few pages back if you haven't), and that pretty much backs up the 0.7 there too as it's inline/on par with the Vector SB, AD La Faulx ++ for aggressiveness. Having said that, I think the 0.6 would be a step milder which is what you said you're interested in, and might be a great choice for you. I think either 0.6 or 0.7 from the sounds of what you've said. 0.6 if you want milder and 0.7 if you want similar to La Faulx ++ or Vector SB. Not sure how the WR4 would compare in smoothness to the other two, though. I am guessing smoother than the Vector, but not sure against La Faulx.

Following for updates.
This is by no means what I would term reasonably priced...the bar for that metric has been
set quite high by Paradigm.
However, some exceptional reviews might tempt me to loosen my purse strings

This looks interesting, even though I was a bit disappointed from the Le Maurice 1.8 and for me it's quite mild and not as efficient as I would want it to be. This one would definitely be more efficient, given the fact that the both the gap and exposure are different for each plate unlike with the Le Maurice, where only the blade gap is different.
