Calling all veterans, and first responders!

I just became aware of a new source of premium cigars for military, active duty and veterans, and first responders (and, I assume, retired LEO FD peeps) that sells cigars at cost. I think it is an offshoot of Neptune Cigars in Florida. You need to be verified (which is easy) but I just bought about 30 really premium sticks and comparing them to retail prices at CI, Famous-smokes, Holt's, JR's, I'm guessing I saved 15-20% off retail. It's hard to calculate because CI had their Spring sale of 30% off going on now, and most sellers have some kind of sale going on, or free shipping. But I just ordered my first batch of premium cigars and they arrived about 3-4 days after I sent my order. Very pleased with the prices and service. They'll never have free shipping, because they make nothing on the cigars, they can't eat the shipping, too. But it's a great deal, IMO. My cigars were six 5-packs, and each cigar 5-pack came in it's own baggie with a small Boveda 69% humidity pack. I was very pleased with packing and service.

Spread it around. Put together a shopping cart there and put together one at your favorite retailer and see if you don't find this is a great deal.

For a thread on how it works, and photos of my first order, see here:

If you think it is a good deal, tell your other military and first responder friends. I think it's an awesome program.

I've done a little more searching on that site, and I think I figured out how the stock is selected. I believe this site is run by Neptune Cigars in Florida. My Herrara Estellis above are smaller than I'd prefer, and the Perdomo Inmenso and the La Aroma de Cuba El Jefe are true Robber Baron cigars (huge).

I suspect the stock is selected from slower moving vitolas. In any business you want your stock to turn over, and assuming the 80/20 rule (may not be exact) probably 80% of their stock turns over quickly, and 20%-ish is much slower. They may be moving the slower moving vitolas to the veterans site. If you search Oliva Serie V you'll find a box of Liga Especial Double Toros (box of 24, 6X60) for $211. These list for $292 on CI (no special or coupon applied).

Might I prefer a different shape? You betcha. Am I going to pull the trigger on a box? Also yes. The deal is too good. But searching really popular vitolas, you will likely see a lot of holes in their lineup. Still, they are terrific deals. This won't replace CI, FS and other vendors completely, though, but this is a great resource to keep an eye on.
