I've been having loads of fun. Experimented with heaps, added a few bits and pieces - blades, a couple of heads, aftershave and thought about sending it on its way again. That straight though.. should have a licence to drive one. I'll pack it all up this weekend and send it home!
The BOX has arrived safely back to me ( amazing packing job by Jim) and I have spent some time having a look to see what is still in there and what has been taken out, I find it interesting to see what other guys find worthy. I noticed there are some things in the box that have done a few rounds and I plan to take them out for the next round. Looks like soaps are popular and little brushes not so much. Lots of blades in the box and that's very cool. If anyone has any ideas for the next round please send them my way, I have added fountain pens and ink before and I'm happy to do that again, there was also some Hibiscus tea and that seemed to be enjoyed too. Open to any ideas, someone once suggested good whiskey and maybe other spirits and I still have the little bottles for those Next round maybe ....maybe.... start taking names in December and sent it off January 2025
Morning gents,
I decided to try out some of the items in the box that seem to always be in the box when it's returned to me, no one wants to adopt them it seems. Picked the GEM single edge and the large Omega brush, I think it's a 48 but anyway the big red floppy boar bursh that needs a spot of glue to stop the knot from falling out!
Using some Haslinger and a lot of care I managed to do a 3 pass shave with only a few weapers for a BBS result, brush performed very well just stiff enough to hold its shape and still soft at the tips, it also holds lots of soap. This is going to be my shave compination of choice for the next few weeks, might even order some more blades from the UK
To celebrate I made a very yummy flat white with the Bialetti and a french press to foam (sort of) the milk, almost as good as the local cafe.
Any one have some soap recommendations if I put an order into Connaught Shaving? No point in just getting blades eh?
Cheers,
Brian
