Any other DE razor that bends the blade like a Merkur Progress?

How uneven is it? My progress is also uneven, maybe 1mm or so. I have found that by holding the ends of the blade as I tighten down the head that I can reduce the offset some.

alternative #2 might be notching the blade slots a bit to offset the blade some.

alternative #3 might be only shaving with one side of the razor.

Ive attempted to allign the blade when I load a new one in but it still just wont shave like it's even. I have to slightly adjust the angle of the razor to get the other side to feel smoother. It's really strange...why a razor would go from perfectly even to uneven in under two years just boggles the mind!

Do you feel the uneven loading comes from the blade moving around when it is being tightened down? I will try your suggestion of holding the ends of the blade when i'm tightening it down and see how it goes. Fingers Crossed!

This is a common problem with merkurs, It happened to my bakelite as well, after a while the blade will not align correctly unless you really put time and effort into aligning it corectly. Its a shame cause I like their razors. I have read many other posts with others with the same problem on other merkurs

Indeed, it is a shame! I love the Progress and basically never wanted another razor to use but now I am so disappointed with the Progress and Merkur's general response to me regarding the sudden defective behaviour.
