Going to be looking for a new one soon..... If funds were no object, Floris JF splash by a country mile.... Proraso Splash is great but I've only owned the old version.
I have 23 different after-shave splashes and balms in my cabinet. My clear favorite is Speick ASL, and I'm currently on my third bottle since first trying it a few years ago. The one I use the next most often is Floid Vigoroso, but when it runs out, I plan on trying Floid Blue, as the Vigoroso has more menthol than I prefer. I picked up a bottle of Captain's Choice Lime last week, and so far, I'm impressed. In summary, those after-shaves I'm sure to buy again;
I'm still very much in a "try-it-out" phase when it comes to aftershaves. Honestly, I don't know that I'm going to be stocking any of the aftershaves I currently use. I mean, I like the Classic Clubman and the Captain's Choice well enough, but I still need to experiment within those product lines to pick a favorite (or two...). And I have yet to dip my toes into the pools of Floid, Ogallala, or Master products ...or decide if I prefer AV Ice Blue or Skin Bracer (or both..) Sigh...
I guess the best I can do is:
-some kinda Clubman
-one of the Captain's Choice flavors
-Pre de Provence balm
Like a lot of folks here I went a little crazy for a while with ASAD and I have around 40 or so, but these are the ones I reach for the most and will refill immediately.
Speick- have yet to try anything better as far as healing/soothing goes. This is medicine for your face.
Alt Innsbruck- love the scent, love the menthol
The Veg- yes it initially smells like cat urine, but the dry down is awesome, routinely the one I get complimented the most for wearing and I have both Floris and Creed AS in my cabinet.
Floid Vigoroso- classic scent and very cooling
Skin Bracer- has replaced Clubman as my favorite drugstore "Barbershop" AS.
At one point or another I had almost every one of these, either a full bottle or a sample from Gary's (Gary's Sample Shop is a wonderful way to try quite a few of these without buying a full bottle first.) When I discovered Floid Blue, it scent triggers such a strong happy memory of a babershop from the past, that I have given up the rest and just use that every day.
