Sure, Brad.

Come over and join the fine GRUME crew. 😀
Cheers

Will do! Didn’t see a post for January yet.

Another question for the group! I was not going to put any exception. But the one thing I think I would miss is participating in a Grundi Blade Challenge which is a PIF / Giveaway scenario. Those things are great. And while I don’t participate in every one due to my travel schedule, and their focus on blades I already don’t like, etc, I do enjoy them. Could I add the following as an exception under the new PIF ruling? “1 Grundi Blade Challenge PIF”

Looking forward to meeting you there. The GRUME thread will be up a couple of days prior to the start of the upcoming month.

As Brad correctly stated, Grundi's event is not a "regular PIF" but rather a B&B group event. A couple of years ago it's been allowed for GRUYERE members to participate, the rules were amended for this purpose. Not sure about the year, but participation in this event had not to be declared as an exception.

I'd cheer and celebrate the rulemaker(s) if they would allow GRUYERE participants to take part in this B&B group event.

The participants in these events (one or perhaps two per year) will (only) receive up to a hand full of DE blades, which will immediately be used whilst taking part in the B&B group event. So no hoarding or ending up with more stuff than starting off on January 1st.
No money will be spend either thanks to the generosity of the sponsors of the group event.

Here's the thread of the currently running event:

I'd absolutely love to have the opportunity to take part in this fun event without having to declare that as an exception.

Cool. Will stand by for a ruling on this.

Also note that this “Vikings” Blade Challenge is one of the few I am not participating in, as I was in the midst of a three-month RV trip when the blades were shipped. So I regrettably wasn’t able to join.

But I agree, these blade challenges are more about contributing test results to the community. And any net gain in hardware is typically worth merely pennies. It is a benefit to all when a community tests things as a group and aggregates the results.

Plus they are fun!
