I noted the difference in another thread, but failed to mention you... Sorry... So this is an homage to the 33C, as you suggested? I prefer 3 piece razors as I use Ti Crown handles on all my SS, titanium or mixed metal heads... hollow bronze handles for the "gold" colored ones...

It was my first "real" DE razor, purchased after reading a bunch here at B&B, and never worked for me...even after returning to it with some experience.

I shaved again this morning with the 33C because despite what I said earlier, I’m still considering the GOAT. It was very inefficient and didn’t shave me close at all. I’ll need the + or ++ plate because I doubt the new 34c head redesign would be efficient enough.
What's in your arsenal, if you don't mind ?
Of course, after reading this entire thread, it seems that the current 34c and the GOAT are supposed to be more efficient than my old 34c, so...I'm intrigued.
I have super hard stubble, I have to shave daily, prefer positive blade exposure and razors that are on the more aggressive side and I don't do ATG!
With that said, the current (neutral base plate) offering is more than sufficient for me and will probably never upgrade
to the future + or ++.
This might look like a 33 or 34 but that's where the similarities end!
But I get it if you want much more blade feel and I guess some more efficiency (even though it's as good on efficiency
as any of my top shelf razors when it comes to that!)

Lupo 95, Lupo 72, German 37, and R41 round out the heavier hitters. Oddly enough, the EJ DE89 works great for me, but the 33C doesn’t.

The SLOC really isn’t enough razor for me, and that’s about right where the GOAT aligns on the IB scale.
I get it...
R89 is my daily - perhaps because I have the most experience with it.
39c vacated my usage for my R41

Plan on using my 34c heavily for the remainder of the year, starting after Vintage April
I maybe crazy, but I recall seeing in the past - SLOC cap on R41 Base ?

The new 34C head (merkur) is way more efficient than my DE89 or R89.
I haven’t touched my 30 something other razors since I bought it.
Of course this is no guarantee you’d like it, but still, just sharing my thoughts.
So that means the GOAT is probably a pretty close copy of it then since it's super efficient.

They definitely used the new geometry.
This GOAT is really efficient. I just shaved my face with it and the DE89/R89 doesn't hold a candle to it. I'm not sure what magic they worked but it has the efficiency of an aggressive razor but it feels as safe as a Henson AL13. Now I can't wait to shave again.
I ended up moving a few things around and will soon be the new owner of a GOAT head and a BBS with an A and OC plate... both handleless.... With Vintage April starting tomorrow, the question is: Will I be able to resist slipping in a modern razor shave or three in April? The rules on the Vintage April thread aren't hard and fast.... but I do want to use mostly Vintage razors in April.... The temptations will be fierce, that I know. <eg>

I'd love to be part of one but I know I'd mess it up on the second day. I like maintaining my rotation of razors and blades with whatever the mood strikes and I know that a regimen will throw me off!

I had a complete set of Lupos... the only one left was that gift our youngest son gave me.... That's the only reason it's still around... I love the SuperSlant L2++OC, though...That's why you never see me in any of the: (challenges, this month, that month, etc..)

Second shave with the GOAT!
This time I used a "less sharp" blade just to see (Astra SP)
Very disappointing post shave...
(to see all my beautiful and much more costly razors on my countertop as the GOAT looks back smiling)
Man this razor's good!!
It's a true straightforward shaving tool!
Super smooth, super efficient and a perfect post shave feel!
With the Astra it felt just like the Lab Blue which means that this razor will probably happily take any blade.
I'll stick with the Lab Blue though, since it's sharpness will probably yield me a bit more smooth face time.
And without sacrificing comfort since it feels the same as the Astra during the shave.
Again I say, it's a winner!

You're already 2days in with the GOAT.
A weeks not bad and I guess I can try but I know what'll happen!
Two in with the GOAT but I've already got a different one scheduled for tonight's shave.
I usually will do 2-3 days per razor at the most.
And then when another new one comes in, I usually give it a run on the first day which would mess up me trying to use one for a week. This week I've got 3 inbound!
